The following email activities are prohibited:

Attempting to circumvent WreckHost email sending limits, spam protections, security systems, or mail filtering
Any email activity that results in excessive spam complaints, abuse reports, delivery failures, blocklist listings, or damage to WreckHost’s network or IP reputation
Mailing Lists and Marketing Email
Customers sending newsletters, announcements, promotions, or other marketing communications must only send messages to recipients who have willingly subscribed or otherwise provided legitimate consent to receive such messages.
Customers must be able to demonstrate how recipients were added to a mailing list if requested by WreckHost.
Marketing and mailing-list messages must provide recipients with a clear and functional method of unsubscribing.
Unsubscribe requests must be honored promptly, and recipients who unsubscribe must not be added back to a mailing list without obtaining new consent.
Purchased, rented, harvested, scraped, borrowed, or third-party mailing lists are not permitted regardless of whether the seller or provider of the list claims that recipients have opted in.
Customers operating large mailing lists or sending high volumes of marketing email may be required to use a third-party transactional or email marketing provider instead of WreckHost Shared Hosting email services.
Email Authentication
Customers are responsible for maintaining appropriate email authentication and DNS configuration for domains that send email through WreckHost.
Depending on the service and configuration, this may include:
SPF
DKIM
DMARC
Proper MX records
Other authentication or validation mechanisms required by receiving email providers
WreckHost may assist customers with supported email authentication settings; however, customers using third-party mail services are responsible for ensuring those services are properly authorized within their domain’s DNS configuration.
Account Security
Customers are responsible for maintaining secure passwords for all email accounts, websites, applications, and services associated with their hosting account.
Customers should immediately change passwords and contact WreckHost if they believe an email account, website, or hosting account has been compromised.
If WreckHost detects unusual or potentially abusive outbound email activity, outgoing mail may be temporarily restricted or suspended to protect the customer, other customers, and the WreckHost network.
A restriction resulting from a compromised account does not necessarily mean the customer intentionally violated this policy. Restrictions may be applied as a preventative security measure while the source of the activity is investigated and resolved.
Website and Application Email
Customers are responsible for ensuring that websites, WordPress installations, plugins, contact forms, mailing applications, and other scripts hosted under their account are properly secured and maintained.
Compromised or outdated applications can be exploited to send unsolicited email without the account holder’s knowledge.
WreckHost may temporarily disable a script, website, mailbox, or outgoing email capability if it is discovered to be sending spam or otherwise generating abusive email traffic.
Email Sending Limits
WreckHost may establish hourly, daily, per-domain, per-account, or other reasonable email sending limits to maintain server stability and protect email reputation.
Sending limits may vary by hosting service, server, account type, or network conditions and may be adjusted when necessary.
Customers may not use multiple mailboxes, domains, subdomains, scripts, or other methods to circumvent established sending limits.
Accounts consistently requiring substantially higher email volume may be required to use an external email delivery provider or another service better suited for high-volume email.
Excessive Failed or Deferred Email
Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate recipient lists.
Accounts generating excessive bounced, failed, rejected, or deferred email may have outbound email temporarily restricted.
Continued attempts to send messages to nonexistent, invalid, disabled, or repeatedly rejecting email addresses may be considered abusive email activity.
Email Reputation and Blocklists
Customers must not engage in activity that damages or threatens the reputation of WreckHost email servers, domains, or IP addresses.
WreckHost may immediately restrict outgoing email when activity causes or is reasonably likely to cause:
Spam or abuse complaints
IP or domain blocklisting
Provider-level email restrictions
Excessive message rejection
Damage to sender reputation
Disruption of email service for other WreckHost customers
Customers responsible for repeated email reputation issues may be required to discontinue sending email through WreckHost systems.
Email Deliverability
WreckHost works to maintain properly configured and reputable email services; however, successful delivery of every email message cannot be guaranteed.
Email delivery is influenced by many systems outside WreckHost’s control, including recipient mail servers, spam filters, blocklists, sender reputation systems, recipient settings, DNS configuration, and policies maintained by third-party email providers.
A message being accepted by the WreckHost mail server does not guarantee that the receiving provider will accept, deliver, or place the message in a recipient’s inbox.
Customers conducting business-critical or high-volume transactional email should consider using a dedicated transactional email provider designed specifically for that purpose.
Compromised Accounts
WreckHost reserves the right to immediately restrict outgoing email from any account believed to be compromised or involved in abusive email activity.
Where practical, WreckHost will work with the customer to identify the source of the problem and restore normal email service after the account, website, script, or application has been secured.
Repeated compromises caused by failure to reasonably secure or maintain an account may result in additional restrictions or suspension.
Enforcement
WreckHost reserves the right to monitor email activity for operational, security, abuse-prevention, and network-protection purposes consistent with applicable law and WreckHost policies.
WreckHost may restrict, rate-limit, suspend, or disable email functionality when necessary to:
Stop spam or abusive email
Protect server or network stability
Protect WreckHost IP and domain reputation
Respond to security incidents
Protect other customers
Comply with applicable law
Respond to legitimate abuse complaints
Prevent continued policy violations
Severe violations involving phishing, malware, fraud, intentional spam, credential theft, or other malicious activity may result in immediate suspension or termination of service.
WreckHost may require customers with legitimate email needs that exceed the reasonable capabilities of a shared hosting environment to use an appropriate third-party email delivery service or another hosting solution.
Customer Responsibility
The account holder is ultimately responsible for email sent through their hosting account, including email generated by users, websites, applications, plugins, scripts, mailing lists, and compromised systems.
Customers are responsible for keeping their accounts secure, maintaining accurate recipient lists, honoring unsubscribe requests, and ensuring that all email activity complies with this policy, the WreckHost Acceptable Use Policy, and applicable law.
